Blood donation barriers: How does donor profile affect them?

Abstract Donation barriers are a crucial factor to consider in the study of blood donor behavior. Since donors do not behave homogeneously, aim this work is analyze how profile (i.e. sociodemographic characteristics and donation behavior) influences prevalence barriers. A total 5,353 active Canary Islands (Spain) completed an online survey. Given general lack agreement concerning conceptualization measurement barriers, integrative 25-item barrier scale, which result grouping all identified literature according concept obstacle they represent, was designed validated.
